This is a *free* series of events that is being put on voluntarily, and mostly at the organisers’ expense, i.e. the good folks at the TTCS (Trinidad and Tobago Computer Society), so it’d be great if folks in Trinidad could pass through and show some support for a local effort to educate the wider community on technology (and in this case specifically free software).
At the very least, please spread the word along to others who might be interested and, if you can, print the official poster and post it to your office’s or school’s notice board.
I’ll be in Trinidad for the developer’s event on October 3rd where I should be talking about free software as well, under the topic “Building Social Networks using BuddyPress.” I invite all interested developers to attend the full day’s series of workshops, as they’re all pretty interesting topics (and again they’re all *free*)
The full schedule is already posted here and I think is finalised, but may change still, so feel free to check frequently if there’s a session you’re particularly interested in attending to make sure you’re attending at the right time.
The TTCS also have several mailing lists if you’re interested as well in participating more with the ever-growing Trinidad IT community or just keeping updated on subsequent activities.
